Spooked!
The Wardstone Chronicles.
How this book series completely got me hooked, you have no idea. It keeps reminding me of HP, the lead so much like Harry, the Spook Dumbledore, Alice.. well not so like Ginny, but you get the point. The objectives are the same, though I have to say, how Joseph Delaney keeps me entertained is just amazing. I mean, am I not reading the exact same series here? It's like reading Harry Potter all over again. Even though, I like working at the office, this series makes me wanna go home more, concentrate and plunge into the world where the light versus the dark is always the happening.
I've developed a habit now, you see, at the office, so many things need finishing that are not finishing, you know, there are never enough people because there are just so many things.. and well... so you see, we render overtime, you know, time supposed to be your time for yourself that your job has taken away from you. I also developed a habit of extending an hour or two - WP - for the hell of it.
We have a system, it's called...okay, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to broadcast it, so I won't mention it, just to be safe. You have system that needs a connection, then you're surely have loading time too, right? Sometimes, it loads slowly, other times, fast. This system we have here is so fond of loading that sometimes, you can leave your station, have coffee, and come back to it still loading. This usually happens on weekdays, when there are angry walk-in clients who all want to be served firstly, right away, bla bla. Luckily, impatient clients don't exist at overtime and loading time is short, so we can work stress-free. Some of us take coffee, some talk, some listen to music, etc etc. I used to be content just listening to music while working overtime before but now, I read. The latest: The Wardstone Chronicels.
I'm keeping the prospect of writing a review, but I'm not done reading. I'm on the 8th and I just checked Google, I thought this was the last one but Google tells me I'm wrong. There are 11, so far. Although I'm curious how and why this series was written, I also hate reading so much information about it on the Net, because the last thing I want is accidentally reading the possible ending. That'd be the end of my reading then. I mean, what's the point of reading when you already know the ending. It's like watching a movie, only to learn later that it's based on a book, and you get the book, and you still read it knowing exactly how it ends. Duh. I like doing things the other way around, read, then watch, although it may not make sense to other people because well, when you get down to it, it's same way as watching then reading.
I have a task tomorrow so allow me to prepare for it. Will get back to you!
P.S.
Hollywood is currently preparing a movie based on it!
